  I don&apos;t know if you do this already, but washing fabric, especially cotton, before cutting, is a good idea. The commercial weaving and printing processes require the fibers to be treated with &quot;sizing&quot;, which stays on the fabric until it&apos;s washed out. It makes the fabric smoother and stiffer than it actually is. Over time, if you sew a lot, you can develop an allergy to it. Prewashing will also shrink the fabric if that is likely. Better that it shrinks for you before cutting, than for your customer.

  I loved shopping in Japan. Because they have such a cash based society, in person shopping is still a big thing. Sadly in other parts of the world, a lot has moved online. The vibe just isn’t there when you buy online 😢

  I could see dedicated crafters taking pilgrimages to such towns and spending days and days exploring each crafting store. So addictive. You could really lose yourself and your sense of time there.

  I loved Yuzawaya when I visited Kyoto in May. I think I went there 3 or 4 times. Unfortunately craft stores in Australia have been diminishing in the last few years and becoming more home goods focussed. I bought beautiful canvas fabric to make bags, bag handles and YKK zips and lots of resin jewellery making items. I really appreciated the sense of love for creating in the store. Loved this video, your creativity clearly comes from your heart.

  &apos;...even as we&apos;re trying to reach the entrance, the traps keep coming.&apos; &nbsp;This is me too - I get sidetracked by everything! &nbsp;I could spend hours in one store. 🤩 I&apos;ve made a note to visit this store next time I&apos;m in Tokyo.

  Those stores my my soul itchy! My Mom insisted on using YKK always either for new projects or for replacing zippers on mine and my childrens&apos; coats and jackets. Their quality is amazing. It would be hard to leave this store without leaving with an empty wallet and a full suitcase. I think you could quilt scraps together for bags of different sizes, for pockets and collars on coats, table place mats, so many uses.

  I’m 69 in Los Angeles California. The blue and white daisy trim reminded me of a dress my mother made for me when I was about 6 or 7. It was orange with the exact same daisies but in yellow placed down the front of the dress. Thank you for an unexpected surprise. 🎉❤
