  I got a chance to spend a weekend there. The waterfalls are beautiful. The tribe members were very nice. I hope they keep it simple.

  It&apos;s only a mile deep.<br>The trail to get there is 8 miles. It cuts back and forth as it descends.

  A friend who lives in an Inuit community of Alaska built a school building by mailing 3400 cement blocks via USPS.<br>Each block had a mailing label. Yes the USPS seriously lost money but all were delivered along with copper pipe 12&apos; long and huge spools of electrical wire.

  The USPS does charge premiums for rural locations. I know this because more than a few times I’ve shipped equal weight, same contents packages to two separate friends, one lived in North Las Vegas and the other in rural Alabama. It was cheaper to ship the box to Vegas than Alabama even though Vegas is something like 1,200 miles further away. They’re simply foisting the cost of their difficult deliveries onto Amazon which honestly, no complaints about that! Nearly all my rural friends do the same. USPS is obligated to finish the deliveries due to their contract with Amazon, but that doesn’t mean Amazon isn’t paying USPS for their part in the delivery. Remember, these packages being delivered to USPS from Amazon aren’t USPS flat rate boxes which is the only other way to skirt USPS’s surge or difficult delivery prices. And even Amazon’s famous 2-day shipping for prime members only applies if you live within a certain distance of an Amazon fulfillment center. It doesn’t apply to rural America. When my rural friends, especially those in the already rural states, order with their prime accounts, it often takes close to a week for packages, but that’s half or 2/3rds less time than it takes USPS and regular shipping. <br><br>Oh, and USPS isn’t obligated to deliver EVERYWHERE, simply to every post office. Plenty of folks in isolated regions have to collect their mail however often they’re willing to make the 2-4hr trek to the nearest post office in the nearest actual town. (I have a few friends who live on very rural ranches or who live remotely in Alaska)
