This hit different because it shows the trade honestly… not just “mechanic makes money,” but the tools, debt, injuries, bad weeks, and still showing up anyway.

They literally tell you that only half the class will graduate and most new techs quit and leave the industry in the first 5 years in your first few days of school.

My father has been an auto mechanic for 30 years. He truly loves the job. But it’s very hard and exhausting work.

years later... young guy making same pay 30 years back...<br><br>cars become more complicated.<br>apprenticeship times went up.<br>tool prices went up.<br>subscriptions went up<br>over heads went up even as owner...<br><br><br>light duty repair is a sinking ship...!!!

As a mechanic and small shop owner i can tell you its 100% accurate.. this career is not worth it unless you have true passion and plan to put your own shop..
