James correctly analyses the popular myths......what prevented Sea Lion was a combination of the overwhelming might of the Royal Navy and the German's total lack of amphibious capability, doctrine, experience and marine force projection. Whilst what won the airware was Dowding's integrated air defence network.

21:50 to 22:50 . i mean i did 😂😂😂 at 22:44 but yeh. At the end of the day, 100 percent right.
like that part early on in saving private Ryan where they let that guy go, after being warned, he'll just be put back into a unit and be killing us again, as you see him do in the film, until near the end when the second time they shoot him. Sadly, you either take them hostage, or you take them out ( especially if they are specialist personnel, like pilots) unless you are able to take out their fighter jets/ bombers/ airfields etc, where then they are just men on the ground, but you've reduced their efficiency, as youd much rather a pilot/tank commander/ assault ship captain be away from their specialist assett.. even though all military staff are trained to kill, it nullifies their skill set somewhat.
Then, its about making sure they dont get to take advantage of yours, as 1. They are in a military vehicle marked as one of yours, so can do a lot of damage before you e realise you've been infiltrated and 2. They are in command of their specialist skill set, making them double dangerous; and in modern warfare, the major super powers share a lot of their equipment, and am willing to bet, bar a few elite units ( i.e specialist aircraft only say, a US, Russian, Chinese fighter plane that's specifically designed for those countries only, and only those countries fighters learn how to fly, operate and use the equipment, thus know 😮where it all is, so they are not figuring it out in the air...e.g Mig 29/B52/Harrier jump jet etc) almost every fighter pilot can fly any War jet thats been made for universal use, or Been sold onto other countries, as they've upgraded and either made newer better versions, ( making the ones they've moved on inferior to their new/current crop) or know and have the command switches to make them useless against the country they were originally made for, but if not, a pilot even in an inferior war jet, is then in familiar territory, and thus a major threat.
i agree with that. i also ahree with having a few cards uo your sleeve, so that only a few can handle the one designed foe yours truly ( i.e every british fighter pilot should have access to the only jet saved for Brits only, with its unique retina coding/finger log/or passcode that only they know about, so that vehicle is useless beyond the realms of an established RAF pilot fone theough all the security rankss of the Kingdom of Great Britain, and so on.
moat modern planes though nowadays, have similar setups, and wirh the use of drones, and drone warfare becoming more prominent though, theres less pilots needed ( so people think).
