I was born on the original Watling Street just outside Markyate on the way to St Albans . The road is now called Old Watling because the road was superseded by the now the A5. Watling Street. Only a dozen houses were on that stretch.

Just watched this, you are spot on about Worcester. Been researching my own family and when I looked at data from one of my ancestors he not only had the raw product but he was probably one of the first to have both narrow weave looms and wide looms, in fact it was one of this persons family who took weaving into parts of Gloucestershire and obviously far later Thomas Blick took his experience to New Zealand producing Blick cloth which was later called Nelson cloth.
