Driving to Scotland 1000 miles round trip but is my truck overweight?

  Liam i think the big potato boxes can weigh about 1200kg to 1300kg when totally full so i would stick to 22 big boxes , it&apos;s been a while since I hauled them but farmers are notorious for overloading trailers especially the bulk potato trailers with the conveyor belts running down the middle of the trailer. <br>I did alot of those trailers as well and most of the time they were to heavy , just remember mate it&apos;s your truck and your responsibility and never let anyone tell you what&apos;s going on your trailer. <br>Love the videos mate keep em coming 👌 👍

  My Son used to do runs &quot;Around the clock&quot; in Australia 2 to 3 times a year. it used to take up to 300 hours drive time. about 14500 Km&apos;s which varied from trip to trip and half was no load some times so wasn&apos;t too bad. ...his words. <br>Much appreciate the look at drivin life on the top side. cheers mate

  The tare on them 3m’s boxes is 120 kg, the total weight in them will be around 1200-1300kg per box we’ve had wagons in with 26 on but the bigger boxes you normally can only get 20/22 on. Also mate Thats normally a big no no taking English boxes to Scotland they normally wouldnt touch them because of the seed law.

  You as the driver are responsible for your load. As per mod 4 test questions:<br><br>Question 1.<br>a) Your fully loaded vehicle is ready for you to make a delivery. Show the checks you would<br>make to ensure the vehicle is not overloaded.<br>b) If you are still in doubt, what else could you do?<br>ANSWERS:<br>Check paper work<br>Visual check of the vehicle suspension<br>Check the body for excessive leaning<br>Tyre checks for touching/mud flaps on floor<br><br>Confirm the weight by taking vehicle to NEAREST Weigh Bridge<br><br>so if it were me I would be googling where the nearest weight bridge is if I was uncertain to go and check my load before carrying on my journey. DVSA would not accept driving to the tipping point as an excuse to why you haven’t had it weighed sooner if you are unsure.

  You as the driver are responsible for the load and weight. Dont take risks that could end you up in court or you are in a serious accident

  I used to haul those potato boxes all the time, you need to be careful with them it depends on how full the boxes are and the size of them. <br>You are definitely going to be close on 44 ton with 24 boxes on but don&apos;t trust the farmers to be right or sometimes truthful don&apos;t forget the more boxes they send the more money they get .<br>You can also be very close on 44 ton with just 22 boxes on , just trust your own instincts and don&apos;t let anyone tell you what your taking the farmers ain&apos;t going to pay your fines and they won&apos;t get in trouble with the ministry if they pull you and your over weight .

  Never a dull day. Thought it would have been the driving that was the stressful part. Seems like it’s everything in between that. Also, those showers are a disgrace

  How’s it going houghton? It’s gortex from 6sqn! I’m trucking out in the states these days. We have truck scales all over the place here. If it’s over weight we take it back. Show them your scales ticket and it will show you were most the weight is in the trailer.
