John does not tear her dress off. During the dance he steps on the bottom of her dress and when she moves the dress comes off from the waist down.

I love that Bobbie didn't hold it against John for ripping off her dress and forgave him afterwards since she knew it was an accident.

Two of the "hottest" movie scenes ever made are in this movie ...
1) Gere's tango with Jen
2) Gere's ride up the escalator with the rose
....just remembering makes my blood pressure go up😅😅

My mother loved Richard Gere. She was a dancer too.

It would be considered rude and innapropes at a real Ballroom competition to be cheering and yelling like that. Only on Dancing with the Stars does that happen and not nearly that loud or repetitive 😂

Why didn't John's daughter just stay quiet? She ruined everything.

Hilarious scene. Richard Gere is really a good dancer. He did his own tap dance in Chicago, too.

They are so good. But I always laugh when he rips the dress off. Now I can't believe the daughter didn't know to be quiet at such competition.

Best scene is him coming up the escalator, dressed in his tux and holding a single rose. Yum.
