Before you go to comment what a leitmotif is, I know. This is just a comparison between songs. I'm not an analyst, I'm just a dude that wanted to do a cool video. o7

Thanks to Red Memory, I realized that the main theme of Hornet also includes the leitmotif of the Pale Gods (White palace, White Lady)

Another interesting thing is that Christopher Larkins, the soundtrack composer, used the dies irae motif constantly throughout the soundtrack.

also love in act 3 when you get close to a voided npc, that one creepy music when you get close to your shadow (after dying in HK) starts playing

In the credits after the true ending, you can hear the silksong theme dancing with the path of pain/sealed vessel theme. It's beautiful

There’s other songs that aren’t in the main soundtrack, such as the full exhaust organ theme being similar to Phantom, the coral tower theme being similar to Crust King Khan but with a different time signature, the mosshome theme being similar to bell beast, and the empty citadel theme (before all the corpses are woken up by GMS) being similar to the chapel themes (implying the citadel itself is a massive grave).
