  The "stabbing itself to power up" theory was pure cope. You can't hear those mournful strings and not know what's going on.

  I bought the game because of you.<br><br>No regrets whatsoever.<br><br>Larkin is a godsend and so are you.<br><br>EDIT:<br>The endings are so much more impactful knowing just how intentional and phenomenal the music was scored to the game.<br><br>EDIT2:<br>I beat the radiance and the way the music was programmed to work with reaching the pinnacle was phenomenal.<br><br><br>HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME.

  Silksong has some really interesting use of leitmotif too: Dies Irae is fucking everywhere. There are some songs, including the title screen theme, where basically the entire melody is Dies Irae, but most area themes have a quote or two of it in some strange rhythm. I noticed it in the first 10 seconds after booting the game up, and for my entire playthrough I was having fun noticing all its uses, some of them are quite subtle.
