  My son is a pilot and his story is similar to yours. Trial with 14 and occasional flying during high school. I took out a mortgage to pay the 100 Grand for his PPL. At 20 years old, he drove in a little car 4000 KM north in Australia to find work. It took about a year to find work as a pilot. From then on, everything happened very quickly. He constantly upgraded his ratings. Maybe three years ago, he went to the States to become a Jet pilot. He&apos;s now flying cargo on 747-400s and has started getting his rating for 777s. I&apos;m proud of him for what he has achieved in such a short time. I never regretted taking out the mortgage

  I feel compelled to say something here. I got into aviation in 2023 at the age of 42. I didn&apos;t before, because I didn&apos;t believe I&apos;d ever be able to understand it. That was until I watched Mentour Pilot. Now I have 650 hrs on the B737-800. Thanks all to Petter. <br>(PMDG 737 by the way :)) <br>Thanks Petter, at my (relatively) old age, I have the bug now, and feel too old to become a pilot. Not too bad as I love my job!
