  When I was there last year a cruise ship had just arrived . There was a ton of busses large and small dropping tourist off .  The last time before I was these was in the early 90s and it was hopping . Watch the king of Stanley movie . That shows how it used to be

  I agree so sad to see, lived in the new territories when I was a teenager and my parents always took us to Stanley market. Due to revisit Hong Kong end of next week for two weeks and this is on my list to visit😢

  The Murray building was originally in central and completely dismantled and reassembled in its current location.

  I was told the HK Govt supported the hiring Of Buddhist monks to carry out a ritual in order to curb the alleged spirits from the past from haunting the House any more when the allegations were made.

  Like your videos bout Hong Kong Central, Mid levels, Repulse Bay, and this video of Stanley. Also revisited these places to reminisce the 90s, early 2000s during my teens. Sad to see how much changed from its glory days...

  I dated someone who lived here years ago. I had to get on a bus because getting a car in HK is too much for my salary at that time. Nice girl and the place she lived feels like a vacation. Eventually moved to London with her family.

  So sad to see Stanley sink like this from the bad management of the current government. It used to be one of my favorite place to visit in Hong Kong. The Murray house had a German restaurant and a Spanish restaurant and also all the restaurants along the shore. Also you can treasure hunt the factory outlets on both sides of the market

  I grew up in Stanely and Repulse Bay. Stanley was a lovely village town in the 70's (not like Repulse Bay, which was always boring). The village was where the shopping mall is now. I believe the villagers moved into public housing built further up the hill. My earliest memories are of the beach. It's now gone, replaced by the breakwater. Which was a necessary change because in a storm the sea would come in and flood Stanely Street.

  Pre-COVID it would have been jammed by 9am. Went there in 2023 and it was barely awake by midday…..
