  It's a bit of a slog from Tai Po to Repulse Bay, but as a swimmer and watersport Lover, it's absolutely worth the journey. The floating circular platforms are awesome for diving and deep-water swimming, and the water is the most beautiful shade of blue. I try to get down there at least 4 times each summer...but yeah, the amount of litter really pisses me off. Have some respect folks!

  One of my great grandmothers came from a rich and famous clan on the mainland but after the Wars/Revolution she worked as a servant for one of the HK families near the old Repulse Bay Hotel. Even though many HKers are rude and pretentious nowadays (which I believe has to do with the idolatry and superstition) in the past many of the old money families in HK were actually really humble, humane, and caring, all things considered. Christian/monotheistic families in HK are also very different to the idol/fortune worshippers, they&apos;re usually more literate, higher educated, rational/reasonable to deal with, many working as social servants etc, with most churches being associated with philanthropy, hospitals, and universities that truly &quot;built HK&quot;, even though there&apos;s ofc many hypocrites also. But for people who worship at the Tin Hau Temple, it&apos;s not really &quot;spirituality&quot;, as you might assume from face value, but &quot;token religiosity&quot;, extreme superstition, and actual idol/figurine worship, so people often live in fear, are emotionally unstable, extremely distrusting of others, with lots of nasty personalities. I have relatives from both camps, and it&apos;s night and day! I would even go so far as to say the later group are often actively ruining the lives of others (for personal gain), and the former who are selfish also are nevertheless the ones picking up the pieces in society, rarely the other way around.
