  It's funny some people see your studio as a bunch of equipment.  I see it as space for creatives to spend time in.  Wife knows best.

  Years ago, when I was gigging, my father asked me what I thought I made playing music. After personal practice, band practice, driving to/from gigs, set up/tear down, and actual gig time....<br>I made about $1.58 an hour....and had the time of my life. Not everything of value in life can be measured in dollars.

  Billy, this was a powerful and honest breakdown of what “rich” really means. One thing that stood out to me: you’re sitting on a goldmine that isn’t the gear or the house; it’s the accumulated knowledge, experience, and credibility you’ve built across music, recording, business, and the side paths you’ve had to navigate.<br><br>Most people will never understand how to translate that kind of hard-earned insight into income beyond ad revenue. YouTube may pay pennies, but your understanding pays dividends if it’s structured, taught, or licensed. Assets you can eat aren’t always visible on a balance sheet.<br><br>Just something worth considering. Respect for the transparency.

  Hell yeah. &nbsp;Documentary. &nbsp;I’m with it. &nbsp;People make similar assumptions when they see me with shitload of landscaping equipment… like… as if I bought $40,000 worth of equipment with cash… in one single day… debt free… and then somehow, it all just immediately and magically 💵 profited💰 on its own. &nbsp;But that’s absolutely not the case… It comes from building it with about $40 at a time

  You are rich, very rich. Your journey is similar to mine. Started out a house painter, bought my first reel to reel. I built a very successful paint company and I never let it go. I built the studio business up and ran both, Ended up in NYC working with the Stones. I never stopped the paint company. I look back and am not sure when I slept. &nbsp;My journey was really rich, my bank account was not. Somehow kept going and moving and growing. I know some of the same people you know, You are thought of very highly in my circles here in New York. Money means nothing, need it to keep the lights on but I don&apos;t measure success by it. You are a successful man, Great videos always. I bet you knew Sean Costello

  I appreciate your transparency and vulnerability! <br><br>I’ve learned over the years that working in the music industry is a luxury and requires a lot of sacrifice. It’s an amazing experience to be able to share music with people but the majority of people don’t realize the amount of TIME and money that goes into making music and at times you can feel undervalued (as you kind of showed in this video.) <br><br>Great video! Wish you the best!

  Hey Billy, I was 17, back in 1978, &nbsp;when I bought my TEAC 80-8 with dbx. &nbsp;A friend of mine update to a Otari 5050 MKIII 8 track and let me pay $1,000 for the TEAC 80-8 w/dbx over 3 months. &nbsp;It took my 2 months to pay him. &nbsp;I worked at a lumber yard on the green chain stacking 23&apos; x 1&apos; x 4&quot; Cotton Wood in Illinois June and July heat. &nbsp;Anyway, financially over the years I have done alright for myself. &nbsp;I can go buy what I what when I want, but it wasn&apos;t easy getting to this point. &nbsp;I have had the same very supportive wife for 40 years, wonderful kids and amazing grandkids. &nbsp;Like you I am blessed to get to do what I love and blessed to have the right people around me.
