Man. This is like Netflix level documentarian work. As a bedroom rapper & producer in the late 90s and early 2000s, this was the music I was listening to and getting inspired by and tried to emulate. So it's amazing to see all these photos and learning about the techniques you used.Thank you so much for putting this together!

"The food sweating!" lmao I'll never forget the first time I heard Knuck if You Buck, Mardi Gras 2005, shit started popping off IMMEDIATELY. That was the moment I understood the power of crunk.

Memphis absolutely laid the groundwork for crunk. Tear Da Club Up 97 is what I’d consider the first mainstream hit for crunk music.

I always wondered how lil jon and east side boys recorded their vocals. Everything sounded stacked fat and audible. Good work man. Also processing Jon’s drums, i know they came from the MP but being ran through preamps gives me much more perspective now
