RIP Shep (1.5.1971 - 17.1.1987), John Noakes’ best mate. Back together now.

I remember this very episode as if it was yesterday. My routine, school Blue Peter, tea time and then bed time. No computers, smart phones, games consoles, etc. Happy days.

Love the fact that 17,000 children bothered to actually write something down, put it in an envelope, write the address on it, buy a stamp and post it. BRILLIANT.

What an adorable dog Shep was, lived for 16 years, you could tell Shep was loved. Great, educational program.

Loved this show. Story of my childhood. The subjects they covered were so broad. How to make education fun.

The episode where Shep gets his name. What a find. After Shep died, John Noakes couldn’t do an interview where Shep’s name was mentioned without crying. Never was there a more public bond between Man and Dog than with Noakes and Shep.
