How dare you say I'm jealous! Doom does not envy Richards in the slightest! You dare you say I lose? Doom's goals are only delayed! Perhaps I should make a broadcast dedicated to this channel.

Dr. Doom was awarded his Doctorate from the University of Latvaria that he built and was the sole member of the committee because Man is not fit to judge Doom.

Rumor is all Dr. Doom had was a small scar but his ego makes him to believe he is horribly disfigured.

I don't like that they made him ugly. I remember watching an interview like decades ago with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. They talked about the fact that Doom was just mentally vain. He had a very minor scar on his face and he freaked out about it and called himself ugly and went and covered his face with a mask. It was supposed to indicate just how fragile Doctor Doom actually is. His ego is magnificent, but fragile. Making him actually have a reason to put the mask on kind of erases half of the characters growth and story development over all these years.

Could it be that the reason Dr. Doom respects Spider-Man so much is not just the intelligence Spider-Man has, but also a comradery from Spider-Man's own deals with Mephisto?

I hope to see a collaboration of Comics Explained and Straight Outta Latveria in the future... A dialogue between Rob and Dr. Doom would be awesome...

Doom's suit and mask don't represent a lack of humanity. They represent a literal barrier between him and his lessers.

I actually adapted Books of Doom into a motion comic movie with a full cast of voice actors
