I am fully behind the decision to barely include jade in episode one. The building mystery surrounding her and her deal was INCREDIBLE, the slow reveal that she's either a time traveler or can see the future somehow and how there's so much more going on than she lets on-<br><br>On my first read i was genuinely unsettled by her till we got to act 3. And it was delightful.<br><br>I think that should be preserved.

I think my favorite parts of this screenplay is the display of the regular human world. it's one of the aspects of homestuck franchise that goes underdeveloped (ironic considering it's the regular world). I'll admit I was hesitant on you showing John's school life but I was sold on Rose. strengthing her character as a rebellious angst. her monologuing voice over at the end while displaying the rest of thr world in shambles as well as john and dad's concern for eachother really made the destruction of humanity felt like it really mattered. I also had a couple hsa adaptation that also focused on johns arc as a protagonist and I think you did it best here. Hoping to see this as an animation or an animatic at least.<br><br>I think my only gripe is the age of the characters. I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for sum 413 hehe

i really love how you're making homestuck more like, well rounded cuz like, homestuck is very much a first draft, it was written as it went along with little planning, so this is like, very cool. i like it.

I have to say, one of the least explored aspects in Homestuck is the world outside of the kids' play session. For being the actual End of the world, it's not really touched upon more than that. But here we have a montage of other people playing SBURB, scrambling to complete their entry into the medium and escape meteoric destruction, while Rose narrates her walkthrough in the background; it really gives you a sense of a living, breathing world with billions of people. who can do nothing but gawk at the Armageddon that awaits them.

People like you are the reason homestuck became what it is in the first place. Ppl taking it upon themselves to create for the passion and just cuz itd be cool. Homestuck had so many themes, its impossible not to find some scenario that you wanna see fleshed out more. Thanks for sharing this. Easy subscribe.

So for the Rose arc, how about you have her start to waver on her views of magic, almost hopeful, then she gets to the S&N building and sees their tech and belittles herself for even considering "magic" at that point, but also hint that she is disappointed about that hope being dashed.

I think for Rose's arc, something to think about is how "magic is real" relates to her as a character, beyond just the existence of things that shouldn't be real.<br><br>Think about the rest of the message surrounding the "magic is real" line: She talks about how she tried to follow the rules and play the game on its own terms, but now faced with the "reality" that it's impossible, she's going to do things her own way. Compare that to Act 1: "If the meteor is a game construct, I think the only thing to do is to proceed, and try to solve the dilemma on the game's terms."<br><br>Rose's arc should be less about figuring out what's REAL, but breaking away from what she thought was POSSIBLE. She should start the story grounded in reality, but that reality is imprisoning her and stopping her from seeing her own potential; and her big moment should be the realization that "Magic is real, and that means WE CAN DO ANYTHING, THERE ARE NO LIMITS," breaking free from the chains of what she thought was "realistic"<br><br>I think focusing on that aspect would prevent Rose's writing from getting bogged down in explanations of what's "logical." Instead of "there has to be a logical explanation for this", her mindset could be more like "There IS a logical explanation, even if I don't understand it, and that means we have to keep following the rules." Her problem isn't that she doesn't understand what's real, it's that her perception of what "reality" means is limiting her way of thinking.<br><br>Forgive my ADHD addled rambling. I really think I'm onto something here.

This video really has the spirit homestuck was made with, one fan of homestuck making a big contribution, your screenplay is just like all the songs and animations made by fans which back in the day were eventually used in homestuck proper, i really wish someone else would be inspired by what you made and maybe try to animate it. Your art inspired me to want to make art myself

I just realized that the adapted characterization of Rose here makes her even more of a foil/parallel to Eridan with the "magic isn't real" bit. I love it!
