  Just because your college sports don't have this kind of following, doesn't make it weird. This is normal here in the states. By the way, this happens every weekend all over the country during the fall (football season).

  Football has nearly unlimited substitution allowed.  Most players play one specific position.  Before you watch a highlight video you should probably watch a rules video or two first.  You can't fully appreciate the highlights without knowing the context.  Football is a very strategic sport.

  Yeah. &nbsp;As an American that watches soccer I don&apos;t think there is a real equivalent to this outside the US. &nbsp;Every time I happen upon a U19 or U21 game it aways seems like a quiet, empty stand. &nbsp;Some basics:<br><br>These are regular season games and most of the biggest stadiums in the world are on US college campuses.<br>These college teams are by far the main path to being an NFL player. &nbsp;We have our strange system of the pro teams drafting players from the college teams once the players have declared that they want to go pro.<br>The US has a lot of states and each one will have several large colleges and those will have football teams. &nbsp;Also many private schools. So the whole system is huge. &nbsp;Due to the exhausting nature of football, few games can be played in a season and arguing about who should be in contention to be champion keeps talk radio busy.<br>High School football is also a huge spectator sport. &nbsp;Insanely so in the South including Texas.

  The national guard is going to be at the LSU vs Ole Miss game tomorrow because last years Ole Miss coach left to coach at LSU before the season ended last year. Ole Miss fans hate Lane Kiffin now because he betrayed them

  College football fandom the closest to European football in the states. Also the most attended sport in America, not sure the exact number but 10ish cfb stadiums seat over 100k. Michigan is the 3rd biggest stadium in the world. Also these clips are typical game days, no special occasions.
