  I visited the museum in January 2025, and it was amazing even in its soft opening. Just landed back in Egypt today. 🇪🇬  Will be exploring it again 🙏🏾✨️

  Ever since I was 9 years-old, learning about ancient Egyptian history has been a passion of mine. Since then, it's been at the top of my list of places I want to visit. Decades later, I still haven't been there, always putting off, for one reason or another. My mindset for putting it off had to do with finding the right time. A couple of decades ago, when I first heard about the, GEM, I decided there and then, I would visit Egypt when it was completed. The original timeline for construction was 5 years. 5 years later, the construction was far from complete. The time was put forward, with new date being set. When they didn't complete it by that date, another was set. Again and again this happened. Each time, my hopes were raised, only to be disappointed. At last, I have no reason to feel disappointed and keep putting it off. The GEM is complete! My right time has finally arrived! In January of 2026, the dream I've wanted for most of my life will come true. :hand-purple-blue-peace:

  This has got to be the most beautiful museum on Earth. Egyptians must be so proud of this marvel. And there's room for more discoveries. I cannot wait to see what will be found in the rest of Afrika.

  I was fortunate to see the Treasures of Tutankhamun exhibit in Los Angeles in 1977. I was just a kid, but it left a lasting impression on me, and I remain fascinated with ancient Egyptology to this day.

  At the end, the narrator speaks of the 'delusions of grandeur of the pharaohs.' But how was it a delusion when, thousands of years later, the entire world still stands in awe of what they accomplished? A touch narcissistic maybe, but they were undeniably grand.
