Not to be dramatic but I do consider "Titanic" the greatest film of all time, and I am not elaborating 💖

Great film. This is as good as the combo historical epic + romance gets. And the suspense interlude with Rose and the axe in the sinking corridor is also top notch.

I watched Titanic in theaters when I was only nine years old, and I have never had such a truly magical movie theater experience as I did when I had first watched Titanic. It was the day after Christmas in 1997 and my sister and I got gift certificates to our local mall for Christmas. So we went to the mall and bought tickets hours before it started since we wanted to do some shopping first, and thank God we did this.....because it was the only movie going experience I ever had that completely sold out very quickly. When we went into the theater, there was this magical aura I could just feel in the air that I will never forget. The theater was so packed that there were some people who were standing in the back to watch it, in order to avoid having to sit in the only remaining unoccupied seats in the front row.

My sister and I got there early enough to pick two of the best seats in the entire theater. The magical energy that could be felt in the air of that theater cannot be understated. It's the only movie I have ever watched in a theater that had a magical aura in the air that was so strong and heavy, it could be felt and you could practically taste it. At first I was worried that because I was so young, my attention span would not allow me to sit still and watch an over 3 hour movie, but even at nine years old, the moment it'd started I was absolutely and utterly captivated. It is by far the fondest movie going experience I ever had in my life, and it's a movie and a memory that I will always hold near and dear to my heart. Due to how magical and amazing it was to watch it in theaters when it first came out.

One of friends worked on the set design for movies, he told me Titanic was his favorite, since the entire crew so motivated to show it as accurate as possible. He said the energy there was nothing like he has worked before or after

I went to see this in 1997 aged 19 and SOBBED my eyes out. There was a whole Newsweek article at the time about how much audiences everywhere were so emotionally affected by it.

The movie just aged so well. Some movies age like milk but this one aged extremely well visually

James Cameron also made sure to record the movie with extreme attention to details which absolutely shows.

The amounts of contrasts amongst the scenes and how the movie goes forward hits

THANK YOU for talking about the moment where Jack does attempt to get onto the door but it then buckles under the weight of them both. Jack's death is a knowing sacrifice. There is even an extended scene where Jack explains that to another passenger who wants to try to get on it with Rose. James Cameron cut it because he is a "show don't tell" director. However, the debate that rages on is a testament to the way Leo and Kate embodied their characters and made the audiences love them so much that we still cared to argue this point for years to come.

To me, the idea that you may meet your soulmate/the love of your life and that you may feel finally free with them is captivating to me. Also the sets look gorgeous.
