Fun fact for Sunny: ONE GUY animated this. Moro is a force of nature in animation, and he deserves SO much more attention.

His massive video game crossover series, indie cross, has similar production value.

(EDIT: Apparently this isn't quite the case as I had read, though Moro did do most of the Main combatants himself, which is still a herculean feat.)

34:53 No. They used Kickstarter to fund all of the episodes for 2024. Right Now Death Battle is an indie series.

It's really funny how when death battle first added the animated avatars for Wiz and Boomstick, it was revealed that the reason they weren't there before was because... Boomstick never took the lens cap off their camera.

Saying Mario is “just a guy” is like saying Sonic is just a hedgehog

 - Bowser is kinda like Doctor Doom - due likely to egotism, he's picky about when to use his bigger powers.

- Ah, right...That "feminist" bit is actually a mistranslation. The actual word in the original text is "womanizer".

Death Battle creates their own music for every battle from season 5 onwards because they were sick of getting hit with copyright strikes lol. So every song you hear in the fights is made by them, their music artists are Brandon Yates and Therewolf Media who have uploaded the soundtracks to YouTube.

@ the kickstarter discussion, this show used to be under Rooster Teeth until they shut down, and then the creators of the show bought the rights to it and have gone fully independent. The kickstarter was done to get them off their feet, and this was the third episode of their indie era (and was a work in progress intended for season 10, the last one under Rooster Teeth's umbrella).

The channel since has been held up since by channel memberships, superchats, sponsorships, and website members (with the website sort of acting like a Patreon while also being a full video archive of the entire series and a merch store).

Early on they mentioned Bowser was an orphaned "Star Child." For context, the 7 star children are born with immense power and effectively destined for greatness, meaning Bowser literally has cosmic forces backing him.

Part of the reason he fails? The other six star children are Mario, Peach, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Wario (who himself has conquered AND saved nations), and one of the Yoshi's. So Bowser is working against at least 2 other Star Children in any given game.

And yes, Bowser's army does not practice conscription, they CHOOSE to fight for him. Bowser has famously come across one of his former troops who went AWOL and deserted the army. His main complaint was that his former soldier did not ASK HIM to leave, and otherwise let things be.
