Star Trek: 10 Moments That Confirm J/C (Janeway & Chakotay)

My wife (also a great J/C shipper) put out another nice little detail for Ellie to say "Because he loves her!". We recently rewatched Voyager and really close to the end my wife stated "Did you acutally notice, that probably any other of the main characters got a chance to sit in the Captain's chair and took it, but Chakotay never did?!" And I really can't remember ever seeing him in her chair. Not if she was injured, off-duty or even away from the ship, no, he stayed in his chair on the bridge (not right for the briefing room of course). Maybe we missed out a moment he did sit in her chair, but I don't think so and wouldn't it be a nice little nod of respect to her, if he would never use the Captain's seat, because it's "her's"? It would make sense for his character. So maybe someone correct us, but I think , my wife is right about him never sitting in the Captain's chair.

To quote someone I once podcasted with… He built her a bathtub!

Honestly, that one moment clinches it for me. All the barriers that they might have put in place for one reason or another are fine. Doesn’t change the fact that he definitely loved her.

Endgame shows it was reciprocal, the ends to which Janeway will go know no bounds, and Prodigy has only reinforced that in case there was any doubt about it being an alternate Janeway the first time!

It's like hearing myself advocate for those two with as much passion and hope as Ellie!
Girl!!! I'm your girl! For real.
As a J/C shipper for over 20 years and 80 stories to confirm I am, all those moments talked about in this video (and much more imho) pull at my heartstrings every single time and will continue to do so.

The longest-running flirtation in Star Trek history.

I remember when Voyager originally aired and in the early days of the internet there was a lot of fan fiction going around where the two of them hooked up

Janeway and Chakotay absolutely were in love and lived happily ever after together!

As a former emergency responder (firefighter and EMT) as well as a military veteran, I have quite a few close relationships like Janeway and Chakotay portrayed in Voyager's series... absolutely platonic with all of them, yet have that implied closeness.

So, it's okay to me regardless of how the J/C is or isn't true canon

For me, the fact he spends the last few seasons calling her Kathryn instead of Captain is proof enough. But the time-shattering episode has a hell of a lot of fuel for the fire as well.

Thank you so much for this lovely video! I was a member of a Voyager fan club in 1995 to 1997, and JC was definitely a favorite for many club members back then. Coda had us all tear up in that scene where Chakotay fights for Kathryn's life. I am so happy we got Prodigy now, and yes, I want a third season, too! Again, thank you for this lovely collection of JC moments!

I’m watching Voyager with hubby currently- we’re in Season 2 and it’s definitely clear there’s chemistry between captians Janeway and Chacotay
