The Black Templars abolished the notion of a Scout division because everyone else envied the idea of letting them go in first.

The Helsreach animation is one of the best pieces of fan media ever made, and Grimaldus is surprisingly fair-handed and even-keeled for what an outsider woudd expect of a Black Templar.

The Black Templars were the first thing I ever saw of 40k back in the day. There&apos;s a famous piece of art of a Black Templar space marine walking towards the camera, sword in one hand and shield in the other, covered in blood. At the time I had no idea what this was other than &apos;badass sci-fi knight&apos;, but years later I got into 40k and immediately recognized the picture.<br>They may be ubiquitous and arguably over-represented, but damn if they aren&apos;t cool.
