The Alocasia platinum is beautiful! Gives silver sword and dragon scale vibes. Also you said “there is cat hair all over him” the moment I looked into my tea and saw cat hair 😂😅 so same. Same, same.

Tbh, yes, varieagated plants tend to be slower than "normal" one, but in my case, my philodendron pink princess has pretty good variegation, and during this spring, it gave me 3 new leaves in just a month 😂 call me lucky but that's not common for variegated plants

I bought a silver dragon back in 2023 and it grew massive and thrived on neglect. Weeeeelll earlier this year I went to Mexico for vacation and I was gone 3 days longer than expected and it was winter and it just crooked. Luckily it had three babies and I’m having fun regrowing it cause they’re honestly just so tough.

13:08 Thank you for the explanation on the pink black velvet. I just got one and the pink is less than the white. This is a very slow grower Black Velvet has never grown for me.

I love my All. Chanty. Such a sturdy alocasia. Beautiful leathery leaves and pups frequently. I have 3 total. All time fave. You make me want a variegated one.

It seems to me that the bigger leaves of the alocasias in fluval are plopping over because the fluval is not providing enough support to keep them upright. Just a guess.
