📌 Best comment gets featured in my next video. AI can do ANYTHING!!! ✨ So... what should I build next with these epic $20 mini computers?

Wait, you mean I can now use all of the 20 various screens, 25 Raspberry Pi's, and all the hundreds of peripherals sitting around?! This was damn cool!

Great video. I can personally attest to this. I have zero experience with these devices. Ordered the TRMNL e-ink display and an AMOLED display. Claude was able to get them operational quickly and then allowed me to vibe code any features I wanted. We live in amazing times.

A couple of years ago I had £500 of HDDs and a rpi NAS kit sat on my desk gathering dust as I got stuck. So I booted it up, got cursor to log into it, fix all the problems, and now it's my home audio server. And since then, I've got Claude Code to ssh into all sorts of things: Sort out performance on an old MacBook Air for my son, Debug my steam deck when the screen touch functionality stopped working, and monitor home wifi and identify solutions to network problems.

If you thouggt microcenter was amazing, Frys, before it closed, was like microcenter but 1000 times better.

You opened up a whole new world for me. I just did this with my solar panels, battery, and Tesla charging as a mock and now I just ordered the little $20 gizmo.

You seem to be amazed by something that we’ve been doing for a decade. Using Claude certainly makes getting going with these boards so much quicker

This inspired me. I wanted a screen to show current ComEd prices, bar charts and other information. Went shopping for a new e-Ink ESP32 device but couldn't find a good fit. Ended up repurposing a Kobo mini from 2012. Last release from Kobo was 2016 and it couldn't even get on WiFi anymore. Claude Sonnet 5 installed all supporting software and built a koreader plugin in Lua. It did all the work over ssh and got screenshots through http to check its work--full control while I watched and guided! Now this Kobo I bought for $50 13 years ago is running 2026 software and doing this duty all on its own, hanging in the kitchen by the weather station and the smart meter usage receiver.

you inspired me to plug in a esp32 into my laptop and I asked google antigravity to identify the board and write a simple blink program and it did it. Amazing. Thanks!!!!!

well that was mental.  I added Claude Pro,  plugged in an ESP32 with a built in round 1.28 touch screen,  told it to build a few buttons and controls, add it to ESPHome.  15 minutes start to finish, and most of that was down to me.     Thanks for this guide,  a whole heap of possibilities just opened up.

I've been tinkering with and repairing electronics and computers since the early 90s and even now in my older years I'm just giddy as I ever was about the way things are going. For me ai feels like the first time I had a mouse and a desktop environment or when we made the jump from  regular cell phones to smartphones, I use Ai now to build applications and help me set up and manage all the devices in my home lab, it's truly amazing

This is encouraging. For years I've been meaning to build an SBC-based weather station, that talks to another SBC in my attic that drives a skylight motor, so I can open and close the skylight based on temperature, but close it if it starts to rain.
