  If your mom "sacrificed her dreams" or "put her life on the back burner" when she had you, she doesn't get to suck your dreams and life away from you like a vampire as payment.

  They always say: the relationship your adult child chooses to have with you as an adult is a direct reflection of how you showed up for them as a child.

  Why do estranged parents only bring up the materialistic things they’ve provided for their kids? Are they not aware that children need emotional support too??

  It is SUPER annoying when people from healthy households try to lecture you with “But she’s still your mom” and “Well all parents and children get on each others nerves and have disagreements” oh yeah? Well everyone pees yet it’s abnormal and wrong if you’re peeing 200 times a day instead 8 times a day. It’s not normal to constantly be on edge around parents and to turn into a monotone robot that can’t let loose at family functions.

  I no contacted almost my entire family.  it's just not worth it. You can be raised with somebody your entire life and still just can't stand them.

  Having a parent with borderline personality disorder is a serious trauma.  Going no contact is often the only option.

  I realized I got lucky with my parents when now in my 30s, I want to call them. I want to spend time with them. It’s such a blessing, and it breaks my heart that so many others do not have that.

  Bro, it took my mom 49 yrs to tell me that my Dad was a totally different person than I thought he was, & it was only after she found out my daughter was doing a 23 & me. She still won’t tell me the truth about the 50 grand she stole from me, while I was working over sea’s, to buy her a convertible mustang. Toxic people come in all shapes & sizes, even moms.
