  "Recovery" (2010) – "Relapse" (2009) album is a better body of work in retrospect/hindsight, but personally I listen to Recovery more. And I must say I believe it is a more important album for Eminem's entire discography trajectory. What I mean is that Relapse as a conceptual masterpiece is unparalleled in it's rhyme schemes,flow, and production. But with Recovery it feels very anthem-y, but not only do I find myself needing that more as I grow throughout my life, but I also feel it was important for Em to produce Recovery as a symbol of his own personal growth and development post drug addiction. If Relapse is the insanity of coming off drugs, Recovery is the fire of sobriety. The true dichotomy between Relapse (2009) & Recovery (2010) is that Relapse didn’t have one true motivational/triumphant song on it. With Recovery he has tons of them for example Not Afraid,Cinderella Man,Won't Back Down etc. So overall I feel this album is the one that truly is aging well amongst the general public/causal Hip Hop audience. They connect to it more cause Em did lean into a more mainstream soundscape which some diehard rap fans didn’t like cause previously he would say that he hates pop stars early on within his career and say that he would never work with a pop artist but then Recovery era comes along and the features are mainly that pop stars like P!nk,Rihanna etc. to accompany Eminem on this album. I find Em has grown pass his Slim Shady arc would he eventually embrace it again?… well that’s for you to find out when you listen to his other albums. But what I will say I do feel the pop features on this album fit perfectly into the message Em was trying to create and convey overall.🐐💿✚(Also "Recovery" is the first Hip Hop/Rap album in general that saved my life and I have fond memories of. I went with my mom to a store called "FYE" that would sell all kinds of entertainment like CDs,DVDs,Headphones etc. to pick up the CD of "Recovery" just good ol memories man! Oh and I remember the first time seeing the world premiere of "Not Afraid" music video on BET's 106 & Park.)

  I was around 23 or 20. I was suicidal, Recovery dropped. From the song "Talking to myself" track 2. I chose to live. This album saved my life.

  This is song means so much to me. I'll be sober 8 years in December. Sobriety is a huge step and it's not easy. Everytime I hear someone's story, I'm even more proud and I tear up. Anyone struggling, you're worth every breath you take and will take! Your future is worth it and you are more than worthy! Stay strong!

  I love this song so much from Eminem. I put on repeat every time I go to bed and fall asleep such an emotional song. Eminem has great potential very talented as seen in the movie eight Mile with him in it. He’s one of my favorite rappers of all time and to me. He’s the rap God of all time. Thank you for the reaction. Appreciate it a lot!
