I remember drinking Salon regularly back in the day when I could afford it. <br>Deal of the century was when I saw it on the shelf of my supermarket with a price of 19.99 USD per bottle it should have been 199.99. I bought every bottle on the shelf and the checkout person then rang up the wine 1.99 per bottle! I just kept my mouth shut and walked out with 5 bottles and some cheap beer to be used as slug bait in my garden . Best wine deal ever!!!!

Carlos introduced me to Egley-Ouriet at Vue De Monde in 2015. His knowledge of wine is something else.

As an American noob, my favorite so far is Veuve Cliquot. I love Champagne, but I'm on a beer budget at the moment.

what a fun episode! Ive watched this several times over for sure. Top 5 for me are Krug, Saint Chamant, Bollinger, Charles Heidsieck, and had a bottle of Jacques Lassaigne that I still think about!

You can get a lot of brioche-like style like in Champagne in well made (for a fraction of the price) Cava (Corpinat), aged in lees for quite some time.<br>Edit: Lol, just after writting Carlos just also pointed out cava. Nice

Had both Salon and Substance. Salon was worlds better. A different class entirely

So lucky to have tried Selosse, Agrapart and Fils, Ayala. I have Egly-Ouriet and Salon in my wine fridge. I have not yet purchased any Krug but have had my eye on a bottle for awhile. Selosse was AMAZING. I loved the Agrapart as well.

On BA Concorde - they passed continuously “ La Grande Dame” vintage - I must have drunk a full bottle on the 3hour 20minute flight - also a La tour and a Château Lafite - was served out a wicker basket.<br><br>But the champange never stopped - from the Concorde lounge to direct boarding onto Concorde … was heaven <br>Ontop of of the 5 course brunch from Heathrow to Dulles airport 😉<br><br>Great memories- we had Pol Roger “ Sir Winston Churchill “ on the Dulles to Heathrow flight … from the Concorde cellars.
