He killed the family to make him feel the pain & prevent any of the boys growing up to seek revenge.

I love when people who hurt others say it’s not personal. It’s all personal.

it shocked me when he finished off the family because they never put that in movies!..still one of the most raw grittiest films i’ve ever seen

That scene is exactly how the Cartels need to be treated.

When I was in the theater watching this the entire cinema did a series of "what the fuck, holy shit, oh my god, are you fucking kidding me" lol

No one ever talks about the look in benecio del Toro's eye when he takes the final shot. You have any idea how hard it is to replicate what a man like that must be feeling into one look. Mf turned into Frank Castle for a sec

Fausto Alarcón (the boss) is "talking shut" to Alejandro because he knows he's already dead, but doesnt want to give Alejandro the satisfaction or power in the conversation.<br><br>But he did not expect Alejandro to kill his family and make him watch. And that look on Fausto's face <s>of surprise, horror, loss, anger</s> that look was worth more to Alejandro than taking his life.<br><br>Well-done scene.

He let him sit with his family being gone for a bit. Let him feel that loss for a beat.
