  I particularly like the but about having no money to save, because she only had enough for bills AND going out constantly. Essentially, she had a wonderful, but expensive personal life and that left nothing spare for investments. &nbsp; &nbsp;<br>Other than the failed marriage, the main learning point is about saving from a young age, rather than make excuses because you need to go out all the time.

  Great interview. One lesson you missed; you didn’t notice the pattern here - your mum left your dad and she ended up in financial trouble. You left your husband and ended up in financial trouble. Coincidence? Life is better when you do it with someone. But at an almost 40% divorce rate, not many women got the memo.

  I agree with the ageism point and have some sympathy but the rest. The guest - I had a driver, I bought Prada, I spent all of what I earned and then I did not have any money …. The interviewer - it was not your fault that you did not CHOOSE to save, they had to introduce law to force you to save … little kids or adults!

  People need to upskill throughout their career. I started in the 90s and am in the same industry but in a completely different role. Had I stayed in the first comfortable job I would have been out of work long ago.

  Need to keep moving in the careers path Especially when you have a replaceable job best off at the sharp end towards the bottom actually doing something manual that an Ai can’t do just my take on it
