I just realized the Aussie called the French wine "steely on the nose", and the Frenchman called the Aussie wine "corked".

"burgundy has many problems but drought has never been one of them"... Then came 2003,2009,2015,2018,2019,2020,2022 . Four of the last five vintages where marked by extreme drought. In this context, the concept of terroir, so fundamental to Burgundians, is going through a crisis i suspect.

"French wine sales are plummeting." Not in France they are not. Most of French wine is sold in France for use locally. I don't think they could care how much is sold internationally which is very little compared to the local sales.

I have noticed that women seem to love Chardonnay over men. Is that really true?

Mmm... I'll take the French approach. I quite like the lack of uniformity. Contrast defines reality.

Dominique Lafon stated that the wine was badly corked. He was set up by Robinson and was extremely mad at her.

I love the completely idiotic prejudice on the part of both the Frenchman and Aussie regarding the products and methods used by the other. “It is corked?”, as if he was being cornered by an old school 60 Minutes reporter.
