Such a great show. Men wearing three-piece suits, and women wearing dresses and gowns.

Bruce Gordon as Frank Nitti and Nehemiah Persoff as Jake Guzik were flamboyant characters, but the master stroke was Walter Winchell's rat-a-tat-tat narration, lending an unmatched air of authenticity. Even the background music was compelling. All in all, a high-class Desilu production.

Ness was a tax inspector who got lucky by nailing Capone.

I loved "The Untouchables" when I was a kid!!! It wouldn't have been the same without Robert Stack!

Daisy-Loo. How tough would it be to hire a voice actor, or any human at all.

Walter Winchell's narration was probably my favorite part.

Not mentioned was the constant parade of the most respected character actors of the time.

When I was little I'd watch these reruns w/my parents. I never thought Robert Stack was cold or scary, just a man on a mission

It's ironic, or something, that in 1959 The Untouchables series was deemed too violent by the tv network it was pitched to, when the same network presented the USA with plenty of cowboys shooting "Injuns" for family entertainment.

Fun fact: The real Elliot Ness was a Treasury Department agent. Not the FBI.
