A popular technique around here is to just use a spoon as the sinker. That way you get crazy movement and lots of flash, but the spoon has no hook so it doesn't get stuck. Works really well.

Substitute the sinker for a weighted weedless small lure. Snag proofed and doubles your chances of a catch.

On Lake Erie they replaced the drop shot weight with an exposed jig hook & tube

Noticed that too.. most of the time the fish gets distracted with the sinker bitting it instead of the bait. Some fish don't like when they see exposed hooks or anything attached to the bait. That's just my 2cent. Good video.👍🏼
