Wow that brought back some memories of going with my mom to her regular appointments. Unlike the pics she would be put in a floral nylon salon gown with arms in as soon as she walked in (and often just taken off a client just leaving) and only taken off as she walked out. Capes and towels used additionally as required. Sometimes if chemicals were being used they would suggest she strip off her blouse/sweater (or dress) first to protect them from getting stained. I remember her first perm (and the aroma) which caused a lot of excitement in the salon. She was so nervous and shocked how curly it was until dressed out! Then in the late 60s a new young stylist “persuaded” her to have a trendy shorter geometric cut which was quite a change and I didn’t recognise her when she came back to the reception/waiting area. Again she was so nervous about it and took her a while to get used to it! Then I stopped going

I have a enormous love of the 1960s shampoos and sets I love that beehives French roll is flip hairstyles and the perms and the hair colour is. I am an amateur hairdresser with free of my ladies who come and have their hair sets every couple weeks. I absolutely enjoy my hairdressing and I love having my hair set my perms colours and doing those hairstyles from the 1960s.
