  Russell&apos;s bad luck is legendary.<br>Russell is still far superior; he&apos;s had his share of bad luck, but with few exceptions, he&apos;s always been faster and more consistent. Kimi, on the other hand, is incredibly lucky. He&apos;s had about 15 close calls, going off the track and getting locked up, and he&apos;s always gotten away with it.

  Without realising it, Mercedes is pulling a Red Bull narratively with Kimi and George reflecting Max and Riccardo. I do think Toto still loves George and understands how talented he is, but Kimi is basically been portayed as the True Future Investment (The next Lewis of Mercedes dominance / Max). But who knows in a few races time, George may be leading the championship again and the timing is now.
