Scotty nailed it as far as keeping things clean. The biggest mistake I ever made was taking cuttings from a guy and putting them in my clone tent.

I grow in 100% compost that I make myself, so most of these issues don't occur with me. Bugs and overwatering aside, although I've never had an issue with pests. This year, I grew outdoors - now that I know the law and understand that every veg plant is 100% legal - and my results are 1,000% better. I had one Laughing Buddha plant that was very compact (I got cuttings) and dense. In flower now, and I essentially have a plant the size of a beach ball, that is a solid nug. Plus, it flowered before my other Sativas and even the Indicas! She's a keeper for sure.
