EJAE was a Trainee at SM for 10 years but failed to debut, she turned to songwriting after she finished college, she is known for how good her demo tracks are and she wrote several of the songs in the movie and was chosen to sing Rumi's part after they heard her sing the demo and realised hardly anyone else could sing it as well!

Main vocal on this song is EJAE. She is also credited as main writer (together with Mark Sonnenblick). EJAE wrote for many K-Pop groups like Red Velvet, aespa, Le Sserafim, Nmixx and Twice. The song is produced by ido, 24, TEDDY and Ian Eisendrath. The first three being from The Black Label, a subsidiary from YG Entertainment. Teddy as the founder of The Black Label is also the main producer for Blackpink and now Meovv among others.

It’s hard to put into words... but it truly was a fearless attempt. The director had a clear and bold request: ‘Write a song that just keeps climbing—higher and higher in pitch!’ So she wrote the lyrics and melody to match, and handed it to him. The director responded, ‘Oh... this is it. I love it. Now you sing it.’ EJAE hadn’t expected to perform the song herself, so she loaded it with sky-high notes—and, well, this is how it all turned out.

Semi-formally trained high soprano here. Golden is one of the very few popular songs I've heard that actually requires a warmup to sing along to if I don't want to wreck my voice.

The film director, Maggie Kang, said that this song was designed from the beginning to be difficult to sing because she knew how popular karaoke is in Korea. She wanted it to people something to strive for.
