  The best one is The Forest. If you use a boat to sail away from the island, your character will stop, pull out the picture of the son he's trying to find, look at it, then turn the boat around and row a few feet back. Your fatherly instinct is the border guard.

  The Sea of Thieves example even has lore. The titular waters are surrounded on all sides by a cursed mist called the Devil’s Shroud. It destroys any ship that passes through it… unless that ship has magical protection.
