  He is a hero far from being a household name, even in China. His glory has been almost completely overshadowed by those who came after him. Born a slave and with a forbearing, self-effacing nature, he never gained the fame he deserved — even though he was truly the savior of China. In non-Chinese-speaking regions, he’s practically unheard of. Today, we tell the story of this nameless slave — a man not only obscure but without even a paternal surname — yet he was the first general of the Han Empire to defeat the Xiongnu: Wei Qing.

  The Han send them to Europe, where they became the Huns who harrassed the European tribes, until Attila was defeated, finally settling in Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.

  Wei Qing(卫青)&apos;s name is famous among those of us who know the history of Liu Che(刘彻), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty(汉武帝). Huo Qubing(霍去病) was a bright general that would have become the successor of Wei Qing(卫青). Unfortunately, Huo Qubing(霍去病) wasn&apos;t as low profile as his uncle and had a rather hot temper. The one who shot Li Gan(李敢) was Huo Qubing(霍去病). Liu Che(刘彻) demoted Huo Qubing(霍去病) and told him to reflect on his action. Liu Che(刘彻) had high hopes for this young man and was trying temper and guide &nbsp;him to become the next Wei Qing(卫青). Unfortunately, Huo Qubing(霍去病) passed away from illness soon after at the age of 23.

  卫青/Wei Qing and his nephew 霍去病/Huo Qubing marked the beginning of the Han Dynasty’s invincible campaigns against the nomadic peoples of the steppes. To this day, the PLA continues to adopt the tactics of Wei Qing and Huo Qubing as its core strategy, applying them in operations in North Korea and Vietnam, where they dealt heavy blows to U.S. forces. <br>These tactics include: the best defense is a proactive offense; a focus on annihilating the enemy’s combat-ready forces; proficiency in long-range raids to strike deep into enemy territory; relying on mobile forces as the primary offensive power while coordinating multiple military branches; and decisive and flexible command, adept at seizing opportunities—as the saying goes, “When a general is in the field, he need not always follow the emperor’s orders.”

  So this is where the mangaka for Kingdom got inspiration for Xin from. Fei Xin Unit. No wonder this video strikes a chord with me. Xin&apos;s story was real, just a different timeline.
