Great guitar for $300. I kinda wish my local shops would do something like this, I would definitely pay $300 for a mystery guitar.

Can I just say that I LOVE the fact that you use “Hey Sandy” as one of your demo riffs. It makes me smile every time.

That is a beautiful tele! Awesome score! I almost lost it when I saw that late 80's Kramer Baretta with the graphic! : ) That looks like an awesome store!

Great score and entertaining video. I like the idea of an affordable mystery guitar because you might get something different than you usually would be inclined to buy/try and at a pretty low risk dollarwise.

That solid sound book is written by the former repair person at emerald city guitars. Eric Daw. Check out his podcast The Fret Files and Pin-Up Guitars.

Just wanted to add that they do make tele bridge pickups that come in humbucker sized. Or they also make special ring adapters where you can put an actual tele pickup in the bridge. I would have the neck adjusted and check to see that the frets are level. Replace that tone knob and cap, and a pickup change if you are not liking the tone. Either way, I think for $300 you have an amazing guitar there!

I wish one of my local stores would do a sale like that. That Screamadelica strat made me laugh because my local GC has a new one of those that they've had forever and they still want like $900 for it.
