In 45 years I have found that giving guitars away is less painful than selling them every guitar that I’ve ever owned I felt I couldn’t part with but when I give them to someone who I know will play them I feel very good about my decision call me weird but that’s my experience

I ran into McKnight at a music store in Phoenix a few weeks ago. He talks the same way in person as in his videos. Super passionate and knowledgeable and extremely transparent. I respect that.

I still remember Phil at 15k subs thinking "he's such a low key, easy goin guy. I hope he makes something from these videos"<br>I also remember thinking "this Australian guy sitting on his bedroom floor deserves to have a ton of subs asking him for lessons. I can't believe he's doing this for free" cut to 2021 Justin Guitar.<br>Nice guys can win, folks

The one thing I've realized about buying guitars over the years is that the ones that vibe with you the most, regardless of the value, are the ones to keep. We shouldnt buy guitars for future buyers; Buy guitars for us. Musical instruments are personal objects that make us feel happy, no matter what the monetary value is and that feeling is very personal to you and not anyone else.<br><br>Anyway I absolutely regret selling my baja telecaster :'(

The funny thing is; when I watch these guitar guy videos, I end up missing half the show because I almost always end up picking up my guitar and settin' to some noodlin'. 💀

I had an '82 Gibson Spirit that my mom bought for me when I graduated from Army basic training. She was a single mom and didn't make alot of money so I know how hard she had to work to get the money for it. Fast forward about 20 years I had a sewage backup into the finished basement of my house that cost me alot of money to get sorted out. I had to sell some gear to get some of the money and that Spirit was one of the things that had to go. I sold it to a store I have a good relationship with and they gave almost what it was worth. A few days later I figured out a way to get the work on the house done cheaper and called the store to buy the guitar back. They had already sold it. I haven't been able to find anything close as far as playability or mojo since. I sometimes don't even want to play anymore because when I do I reminisce about it and get disappointed with whatever guitar I'm playing.

When I managed to get enough money to buy my first good guitar back in 98, I went to a store and I was between a cream USA strat ( a la Yngwie but not the signature) and an Ibanez JP1 model.....They were priced the SAME FFS....I opted to go for the Strat (....I know)....because the Ibanez neck felt "slim"........Still banging my head on the wall for that.

Easy way to not have regret of getting rid of gear, never get rid of gear. My only regret is being a gear hoarder.
