  I lived less than an hour from Mason City, Iowa when this happened—to say this is a rural area is an understatement. Kids were excused from school in this area in the fall to harvest fields. My high school class was 65 ppl. My sister graduated with less than 30. This doesn’t happen there! My oldest son LOVED watching her on the news! He was 7 when she went missing and it broke our hearts! She reinvented that news station! We were loyal watchers several times a day because of her! Someone KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO HER! It’s time to talk!

  This is the type of case that terrifies me the most. It is NEVER the victims fault, regardless of how late they were out, if they were alone, what they were doing, but especially in this case it makes you realize that you can be a victim at ANY time. Thank you for bringing attention to this case and may Jodi and her family get the justice they deserve.

  I’m born and raised in Minnesota. This and the Jacob Wetterling cases always stayed with me. With Jacob’s case being solved, I’m hopeful this will get some resolution as well.

  Something I was waiting for you to mention…. The cold case murder of Michelle Martinko from Cedar City, Iowa was solved after 39 years using dna. When the police confronted the suspect for the first time, he literally name dropped Jodi Husentruit randomly out of nowhere during the interview! There could be a connection between these cases- both women went missing in a similar area, looked very much alike, and this guy Jerry Lynn Burns could have been responsible!!! He could have stalked Jodi because she reminded him of Michelle. He was a free man in the area at the time of both of their deaths, and the police who brought him to justice believe he is a serial killer with other unknown victims.

  Jodi's disappearance has bugged me for years. It's so sad that there has been no justice for her or her loved ones. I hope that someone is finally held responsible 🙏 ❤

  Why no anonymously placed 911 call from even just one of the several tenants that heard the scream at 4 a.m.? That infuriates me.🎉

  This is one of those cases that has haunted me. She just disappeared and there is no evidence on how, who or why. So scary.

  I remember this case... it has baffled me since Iwas a late teen/young young woman. &nbsp;Since the tragedies of Adam Walsh and Etan Patz who only lived just over 20 minutes from me, I&apos;ve been very aware and extra careful as a child. &nbsp;<br>When it came to Jodi&apos;s disappearance...It was one of the very first cases that made me extra, even overly-cautious and caused me safety concerns as a young woman! &nbsp;(I was living alone out of state 5 hours from home for college.) I&apos;ve never forgotten about Jodi and always kept her in ny thoughts and prayers. Devstating for both Jodi and her family!<br>She was such a beautiful young woman with a btight future!

  This is my hometown! I lived in the Key Apartments where she was abducted from for awhile. It’s not a bad area of town. This case has haunted my community since I was a child. Thank you for covering this.
