The high-pitched, shrilling, ear-piercing scream of those engines reminds a lot of my many flights on jets like the DC-9 and the BAC-111. Sweet memories....back when flying had 'smells' and 'sounds'...!!

I flew on the Cubana IL-62 between London and Havana with a fuel stop at Gander in Newfoundland (Canada) early 1990's. We departed London late April and was sunny, hot and 29°C (84°F). We arrived Gander and was snow 2°C (35°F). We arrived Havana and was very hot at 33°C (91°F)

Legendäres Flugzeug. Dieser Triebwerkssound und die Vielfalt an Flugzeugen, die es noch bis in die 90er Jahre gab... Traumhaft. Sowas erlebt man heute nicht mehr

I remember as a Heathrow plane spotter in the 1970's seeing all those Aeroflot, Tarom, LOT, Balkan and OK jet Ilyushins and Tupolevs. Aeroflot plane was almost a different aircraft every day
