Great tips Chad! A lot of the artists I'm around will share the songs they think are their best and they're the ones full of generalities and cliches... Finally after playing thru a bunch they hit their "b" stock songs that are the raw, specific, relatable things that they were afraid to share or thought it was too personally specific to be able to connect with others

Talk about the effects, not the cause 👍🏾👍🏾

Thank you for sharing this very helpful video, we'll apply all of this on the new album next year hopefully. It's all about story telling lyrics connected to emotions or to the situation in question, exact specifics as you've said.

Once again thanks for the video, we'll take your advice and try to write something direct, simple and moreover specific but based on personal experiences

Hmm I've always thought the opposite. The more specific, the more people you exclude from the discussion. I think about Metallica "Nothing Else Matters"<br><br>So close no matter how far<br>Couldn't be much more from the heart<br>Forever trust in who we are<br>And nothing else matters<br><br>If he said "so close, even when I'm out on tour... When I'm on touring we're so far apart" it just wouldn't resonate to as many, no? Because not everyone is a traveling musician.
