This is awesome! I primarily write instrumental music but the idea of picking conflicting emotions adds a lot of depth and complexity. As soon as you introduce that tension, the ideas come flooding in! Thanks for sharing your process. Looking forward to more!

Love this video. I’ve started working with a similar process after watching some of your other videos. Makes writing fun, siliences the inner critic, and I find it takes me places i wouldn’t have anticipated. From your free writing, I was finding parallels to a magic show, and finding out could easily have become “the reveal” or “the great reveal”. That’s what’s so cool about songwriting: two people can embroider on the same concept, come up with two different results and they are both right. Another reminder that music is a brotherhood, not a competition.

This video is raw in a good way. It takes time, humming nonsense to yourself, until something clicks. I can write hooks pretty good, but then i'll get hung up on whatever i have to force more whether it be the verse or choruses. A process like this might help me direct my focus and stay in the spirit of the song.

My goal is for people to hear my music. I’m mastering a three song EP… I’m heavily invested in my studio and craft and I be very interested in your take on marketing it and just what can a solo artist do to get it heard much appreciated. Great video today thank you.
