Two things... <br>1. Make sure it's actually sardines and not herring, which is sometimes substituted. They are NOT the same fish.<br>2. Low sodium is BS. I read at least one long-term study on the NIH website that showed that low sodium for heart related problems doesn't work, AND that if you are having these problems, you should actually INCREASE the salt. This is evident that when someone goes to the ER with heart related issues, the FIRST thing the paramedics do is run an IV WITH ~7000 mg of sodium, (x2 if it's a 'push'), in order to stabilize the patient. Reread that so it'll sink in. <br><br>Anecdotal: I increased my sodium levels SIGNIFICANTLY and many problems disappeared. <br><br>Disclaimer: YMMV

Seeing the amount in the King Oscar brand makes me realize we are getting robbed in my country.<br>Most you can get is about 5 of the small sardines in a few brands, rest of brands here they put less fish and more liquid to make weight.

My favorite and I will only eat. Tiny Tots Norwegian Sardines. Other possibilities, King Oscar. Not Bumble Bee, Starkist and Chicken of the Sea or Brunswick.
