These SECRET Baits Catch MORE Sheepshead Than Fiddler Crabs!

  Hey Nate, I have a favorite bait for sheepshead that i found by accident. <br>I was fishing for redfish using finger mullet and had caught one fish before i ran out of bait.<br><br>After watching a couple of teens catching Sheepshead with fiddler crabs. &nbsp;I didn&apos;t have any fiddlers, but i looked down, and i was surrounded by hermit crabs in various sizes.<br><br>So i decided to try them. I grabbed a few small and medium sized crabs. Cracked the shells with a rock, and removed the crabs from their shells.<br><br>I had a #4 j-hook on 20lb mono. I hooked the crab through the top of its head, pulled the hook almost through, then turned it, and brought the tip up through the bottom of the crab right where their soft tail joins the body<br><br>I ran the point of the hook up through where the tail joins &nbsp;the body and back out through the &nbsp; &nbsp; hard shell of its body.<br><br>Then, i free-lined the crab with no split shot, just the weight &nbsp;up current from some pilings.<br><br>As the crab slowly sank in the current towards a piling, i saw my line jump, and i set the hook and caught an 18 inch sheepshead. Shocked that the hermit crab worked, i put on a fresh crab, used the same drift towards the pilings, and set the hook when the line jumped, another nice Sheepshead. &nbsp;I ended up with 4 nice sheepshead, and one keeper redfish all on hermit crabs.<br><br>After that, i never bought fiddler crabs again, and just took a few minutes to catch a small bucket of hermit crabs, and had great success. Caught my PB sheepshead 24.5 inches on a hermit crab. <br>Also caught bigger hermit crabs, tipped a stingray grub jighead with a crab and caught limits of 10 to 15 pound redfish almost every time i went fishing.<br><br>I&apos;m Sorry for the long comment.

  When I was a kid, we ran into an old man fishing for catfish on a lake spillway. &nbsp;He was pulling them in left and right with cut pieces of Ivory Soap. &nbsp; I haven’t used it years, but it worked.

  Mine was about 8 3/4 pounds, they love canned clams 6 octopus hook ,we catch a lot of Tau-tog,at same time when Sheepshead are feeding!! So awesome!!
