As I kid in the late 90’s/early 00’s, I used to sit in class and fantasize about living in Hyrule and Termina. I still do sometimes

Best thing about OOT is that even back then, as kids, we knew this game was special. There were plenty of videogames when this came out, but Ocarina of Time was just so different from all the rest. My parents would watch me play it, heck even my uncles would play the fishing mini game with me. I cherish those memories.

Saturday mornings in 1999 with Ocarina of Time on my 13-inch CRT TV. I had no idea how good things were.

It gives me so much hope for 2025 that good things like Zelda 64 are still here, still loved and not forgotten. You who reads this comment, you are a guardian of the Good and you have my greatest respect <3

My wife, girlfriend at the time, left for a 6 week break to visit her family in uni. I spent the entire 6 weeks eating, sleeping and playing this game.

Kids (and adults, frankly) today don't realize how different the world was at the time this game was released. You didn't have ANY distractions from social media or the Internet. When you popped that cartridge into the N64, you would focus on only one thing: immersing yourself into the magical world of Hyrule. If only we knew then how good we had it.

Sitting here in Vietnam, working and listening to these songs, I’m overwhelmed by nostalgia—it’s almost too much to focus. I never imagined life would turn out the way it has, yet here I am. Reflecting on the old days when nothing seemed to matter, compared to now, where everything feels significant and change is inevitable. It’s heartwarming to experience the same emotions I felt as a child, even in a completely different environment.

Whether I play it on its own, the OoT/MM randomizer, or with several different games in Archipelago, I look forward to spending more time in N64 Hyrule in 2025! ❤

Inside the deku tree is probably the most nostalgic track ever for me, some of my earliest gaming memories were spent running around in there and never being able to finish it.
