I used oxalic acid vapouriser wand this morning on my 2 hives. Easy to use. I'll do another treatment in 5 days time and so on for 5 or 6 treatment s. Clear videos with safety uppermost. Thanks

The only sustainable way for the future will be varroa resistance. Greetings from a barefoot skep beekeeper who specializes in traditional skep beekeeping and log hives.

why not just use a 5cc syringe, less room for error that way?

2 things: 1. Shouldn't you remove supers before treatment? And 2. What about brood? Is this just a winter or dearth treatment?

Just a note: any thoughts :

No, you must not use oxalic acid wood bleach from a hardware store for bee hive mite treatment. While both products contain the same active ingredient, pure oxalic acid dihydrate, the wood bleach formula is not approved or certified for use in bee colonies.
Why wood bleach is unsafe for bees
Contaminants: Wood bleach may contain impurities or additives that are harmless to wood but toxic to bees and humans. For example, some two-part bleaches use hydrogen peroxide and sodium hydroxide instead of or in addition to oxalic acid. Even small amounts of contaminants can be dangerous to the hive.
Legal restrictions: Using a product in a manner inconsistent with its label is illegal and may be subject to fines. The USDA and EPA have approved specific, registered products for in-hive use, and wood bleach is not one of them.
Risk of overdosing: The proper concentration of oxalic acid for mite treatment is critical for effectiveness and bee safety. Beekeepers relying on uncertified wood bleach would have to guess the correct dosage, risking harm to their bees.
Residue in honey: An unapproved formula or incorrect application could leave harmful residues in the honey and wax, contaminating it for human consumption.
Certified oxalic acid products
To legally and safely treat your bees for Varroa mites, you must use an EPA-recognized product specifically formulated for bee colonies. As of the time of the search results, the only approved product was API-Bioxal™. This product is pure oxalic acid dihydrate, the same compound found in wood bleach, but it has been tested and certified for safety in bee colonies.
How to obtain the correct product
You can purchase EPA-approved oxalic acid dihydrate from beekeeping supply companies. For your safety and the health of your bees, always follow the instructions on the label and wear the specified protective gear when handling and applying the treatment.
