  I have lived in Indonesia for many years. At first I tried to empathize and understand their context, but after seeing so much corruption, irrational laws, and things being done badly, you can simply conclude that those who run this country are animals who live at the expense of the suffering and misery of their people.

  I come from Indonesia, I ask for your prayers, here in my country almost one region of the country is experiencing a disaster in Kalimantan, there is a fire on almost one island, and in Java there is a water crisis, in Papua there is terrorism, in Aceh there is a government rebellion, and in the government there is corruption. I ask for your prayers and support for Indonesia, almost millions of people are in trouble in Indonesia, Indonesia is in a country-wide crisis, the global world doesn&apos;t care :(. greetings from Indonesia :)

  I&apos;ve spent many years living in Indonesia, long enough to move past the tourist&apos;s surface-level impression and actually see how the country functions day to day. When I first arrived, I made a conscious effort to be understanding to remind myself that every nation has its own history, its own struggles, and its own reasons for why things are the way they are. I told myself that what looked like dysfunction from the outside probably made more sense once you understood the local context, the culture, the economic pressures.<br><br>But after enough years of watching the same patterns repeat themselves corruption that goes unpunished and is almost treated as normal, laws that make no logical sense and seem designed to benefit a select few rather than the public, basic systems that are mismanaged over and over despite the resources available to fix them that initial empathy starts to wear thin. At some point, giving people the benefit of the doubt stops being open-mindedness and starts being denial.<br><br>What&apos;s left, after seeing it firsthand for so long, is a much harder conclusion: that a lot of the people running this country behave less like public servants and more like predators, extracting wealth and advantage for themselves while the majority of the population is left to deal with the consequences poor infrastructure, limited opportunity, and daily hardship that never seems to improve no matter how much potential the country actually has.
